The Body Shop Haul | Strawberries Galore

I went to get the mail today and the weather was warm enough that I didn't need a jacket which is just a hallelujah here in Canada because this winter has been brutal and cold and I'm so psyched it's finally over!! To celebrate the fact that it's spring and getting warmer I chose to do a little haul at The Body Shop. I picked up all strawberry scented products, which is my favourite scent that the store carries.

When it comes to body care, The Body Shop will forever and always be my favourite place to shop. Since I have sensitive skin, I have to be really careful about the soaps I use. I break out in a rash whenever I use Dove body wash, which is ironic because the brand prides itself on being suited for sensitive skin, so hopefully that gives you guys a bit of an idea about how sensitive my skin really is. However, every single product I've tried from The Body Shop has been absolutely amazing and I just can't rave enough!

The first product I picked up is the Strawberry Body Polish, which is essentially an exfoliating body wash. I've actually never tried this product because I'm usually too lazy to exfoliate my body with anything other than a loofa, but now that the weather is getting warmer I'll be showing off more skin and I want it in good shape! Hopefully this does the job.

The next product is the Strawberry Shower Gel which I've repurchased a zillion times because it's my favourite body wash ever. It smells amaaaaaaaazing and the scent lingers in my skin all day long. It's gentle and moisturizing and I seriously can't get enough of it.

Another product that is new to me is the Strawberry Soap, which is just a really basic bar soap. I usually prefer shower creams or gels but I figured I would try it and see if it's more moisturizing. I also find that bar soap tend to last longer than what you would find in a bottle so I guess I'll find out!

Last but not least is my favourite moisturizer of all time: the Strawberry Body Butter. This is a holy grail product for me because it smells so freaking good and it feels like...well...butter. It's really thick but not greasy and it doesn't take an obscene amount of time to absorb into the skin. It isn't my go-to everyday moisturizer just because it doesn't absorb instantly (which I personally think is to be expected from all body butters) but it leaves my skin so soft and it pairs perfectly with the Strawberry Shower Gel to leave your skin smelling amazing all day long. I will repurchase this product forever, and I'm dying to try more scents. I wish I had bought the full size version because I know this is going to be used up really quickly!

I also bought two red loofas which I forgot to photograph so I'm excited to see how they hold up in comparison to the cheap ones I usually buy at Walmart or Dollarama!

What are your favourite Body Shop scents or products?

Spotlight On: Mac All Fired Up

Mac All Fired Up Swatch and Review

Since trying my first Mac lipstick not so long ago, my obsession has reached a new level. I seriously can't imagine a better way to spend $20 and I'll use any excuse I can to pick up a new shade. My most recent addition is Mac All Fired Up, which is just holy grail status in my books. Since I have really fair skin I think pink toned reds look the best with complexion, and even though I own waaaaay too many pink lip products (you can find a few in my post here) I needed this in my life.

Mac All Fired Up Swatch and Review

All Fired Up is a retro matte lipstick, and for those of you who've tried this finish you know how amazing it is. Even though it can be extremely drying if you don't prep your lips properly, it lasts all day, it's completely matte with no hint of shine, and you never have to worry about bleeding or feathering that's so common with bright shades because it won't budge. When I take a shower and wash my face I'll come out and still have an intense stain on my lips when I wear it! It's nuts.

Mac All Fired Up Swatch and Review

Because of the finish this shade is really unique and I haven't been able to find anything quite like it. Whenever I wear it I get soooo many compliments and people always ask what brand/shade it is. Three of my friends have already gone to Mac to purchase it but it's been sold out for ages so if you can get your hands on this colour BUY IT! Trust me!

Have you tried All Fired Up? Which Mac shade should I buy next?

My Thoughts On: Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner

Eyeliner was the very first beauty product I tried back in 7th or 8th grade and I haven't been able to live without it since. While my tastes have slowly evolved makeup wise, I still think that my makeup look isn't complete without at least a little bit of eyeliner. While I love the natural smudgy look an eye pencil can give, there's nothing sleeker than a cat eye, and only liquid liner can really give me that. With that being said, it's really hard to find a liquid liner that is easy to apply, doesn't smudge, and lasts all day or night (especially for a reasonable price). Everyone raves about the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, which I love, but I was determined to find a cheaper alternative that I love just as much. I'm happy to report I've found it!!

Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner Review

Maybelline Master Eye Studio Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner is amazing, not only for the price but just in general. It gives really crisp lines, the finish is matte and not shiny like Stila's is, it doesn't smudge or fade until you take it off, and it's easy to apply! While it's not completely waterproof, it will resist a little bit of water (like if you bawl your eyes out during A Walk to Remember or get caught in a little bit of rain) so I can't complain! I wore this the other night and accidentally fell asleep with my makeup on, and when I woke up it looked exactly the same as when I applied it the night before! Amazing stuff. The only thing I don't love about this liner is that the tip is a little too long for my taste, but I've already gotten used to it and like I said it really isn't difficult to use.

Since I haven't had this liner for a long time, I can't speak for how long it lasts or if the tip becomes fuzzy and difficult to use like Stila's does. I'll post an update to let you guys know how it holds up, but as of right now I'm in love!

Wednesday's Weekly Roundup #1

Wednesday's Weekly Roundup #1 Hiiiiiiii guys! This post is the first in what will hopefully be a series here on Bartlett Pair. I love reading posts about people's favourites, so I thought I would compile a list of things that I've been loving each week. It won't be all beauty related because I feel like that would get super repetitive, so I'll include TV shows, movies, books, clothes.... basically anything I've been loving! Anyway, let's jump into it.

Avocado: Ahhhhhhh. This is more of a lifelong obsession rather than a weekly favourite but I thought I would include it because I've been eating avocado every day this week. I've made avocado pasta, eggs and avocado, I've eaten it on its own, put it in sandwiches... I'm addicted and I'm always looking for new recipes to use it in!

Beats Solo 2 Headphones: I finished exams this week and these headphones were my absolute saviour for listening to YouTube videos of white noise while I studied. If I'm being completely honest my favourite white noise is the sound of the vacuum or the hair dryer. I know, super weird, but it's so soothing!! I can't be the only one that loves it. Anyway, they're comfy, block out a lot of outside noise, and look how cute they are!

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Fortifying Conditioner: When I'm stressed I shower a lot, so this conditioner has been amazing for preventing my hair from completely drying out. It has avocado in it which instantly intrigued me, it's really thick, and it smells awesome. Will repurchase for sure.

Milani Matte Lipstick in Naked: During exam time I hardly ever wear makeup because it takes up time that I could be using studying, but on the day of my last final I put on a little bit and chose this beautiful everyday nude lipstick. I wrote a full post about my obsession with it and included swatches here!

Urban Decay Naked Palette: Like I said, I don't tend to wear makeup during exams but when I did this was the palette I turned to every time. It's versatile, the colours are so pigmented, and they last all day long. If I had to choose one eyeshadow palette to use for the rest of my life it would be this one hands down! My favourite everyday look is to apply Sin all over the lid, Naked in the crease, and Buck in the outer V.

Revenge: Last but not least, this is my favourite of the bunch this week. For those of you who don't know what this show is about, it basically tells the story of a girl (Emily) whose father was framed for a crime he didn't commit, so she moves next door to the family who framed him and plots revenge on them. It's all sex and murder and it's just one of those shows that gives me goosebumps and drops my jaw to the floor. I'm currently on season 4 and it's probably the best season yet. BRB while I go watch an episode right now!

What are your weekly favourites?

The Perfect Red Lipstick: Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red

I'VE FINALLY FOUND THE PERFECT RED LIPSTICK!! *jumps up and down* Okay, so I know there are a ton of beautiful red lipsticks out there, and every single lipstick line has their own version of the "perfect" red but I have officially found the prettiest one ever: Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red. I wore it for the first time to test out the formula last night and I received more compliments than I could count which made me feel great all night! I'm awful at describing colours but it's a blue toned deep but bright red. Something about the colour or the formula makes my lips look about double the size which is also a huge bonus.

Colour aside, I tried out the formula of this liquid lipstick last night because I knew I would be eating and drinking non-stop, so it was really put to the test. The first thing I noticed is that it's really difficult to apply (but this might be because I'm a liquid lipstick newbie). I had to take it off at one point and start over because I was starting to look like the joker, so I tried again using Mac Cherry Lip Liner to line my lips and create some sort of guide. This made application a zillion times easier and the two are a stunning combo.

Since this is a liquid lipstick it goes on wet and dries down to a matte finish, so during application pretend like you're painting something. In other words, don't purse your lips together like you would with normal lipstick until it's completely dry, or your lips will end up sticking together and colour will transfer everywhere!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red
Swatches from top to bottom: Sephora 01 Always Red, Mac Ruby Woo, Mac Viva Glam I

I've swatched the colour next to Mac Ruby Woo and Mac Viva Glam I so you can see that it's a true red, with no hint of pink, orange, or brown like a lot of other reds have. It's by far the least drying matte lipstick I own which really surprised me because I thought it would be the driest! If you want to see the colour in action, check out here and here to see some photos on my Instagram!

Now the most important part: wear time. It looked flawless for about 3.5 hours with a lot of drinking and light eating (crackers). It stayed looking pretty good up until about 5 hours, and then it started to come off on the bottom of my upper lip and the top of my bottom lip. I forgot to bring the lipstick out with me so I looked like a hot mess after 6 hours and had to scrub most of it off. The good thing about this product is that it's no problem at all to reapply. Every other lipstick I've tried (including retro matte finishes) need to be reapplied after a couple hours because my lips just don't like lipstick apparently, so having to touch up every 4 or 5 hours instead of every 2 hours is huuuuuge!

All in all, this is a complete rave review and I'm so excited to try more colours! If you want a long lasting beautiful red lipstick that's matte but not drying (so basically if you're anybody in the world because everybody wants that) BUY THIS!

What's the best liquid lipstick you've tried?

The BEST 90s Drugstore Lip Combo

It isn't a secret that I'm obsessed with 90s inspired mauvey brown lipsticks and lip liners. I really love how a liner can change the colour of any lipstick, making it darker or more on the pink/brown side, and I think these types of shades suite my skin tone really well. My favourites lately have been Mac Soar, Mac Brave, and Mac Velvet Teddy. It probably isn't a surprise that these are all Mac shades, but I've been on the hunt for more affordable options and I've finally found them! I seriously haven't been this excited about drugstore products ever!! I'm completely in love.

The shades I picked up are Milani Lip Liner in Spice, and Milani Matte Lipstick in Naked. Let's start with the lipstick. I can't even describe to you guys how beautiful the colour is. I would say it's pinker than Mac Velvet Teddy, but browner than Mac Brave... so a perfect mix between the two. It's seriously the perfect everyday lip colour, and I've been wearing it non-stop since I bought it. It goes on super creamy but dries down to a matte finish, and IT SMELLS LIKE CHOCOLATE! Need I say more? It's also $6 in comparison to $20 at Mac. For you Canadian girls, I found Milani at Loblaws (the only place I've seen the brand ever).

I'm equally obsessed with the Milani Lip Liner in Spice. It applies just as creamy as my Mac liners, which I know is a bold statement but they really do! They're a little drying overtime but not much worse than what you would find from Mac. When you apply, they don't tug on the lips and they glide right on. The colour is also insanely beautiful and looks awesome as a statement lip paired with Naked. If you're not as fair as me it'll look a lot more neutral. The colour is pinker than Mac Whirl, but browner than Mac Soar.

I've never received so many compliments on a lip colour ever. Two of my friends recently asked what I was wearing and went out and bought the same shades. These are already firm favourites in my collection and it's taking a lot of willpower to not go out and buy more colours. You all need to check them out for me so I can live vicariously through you!

Have you tried anything by Milani?

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation Review

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation Review

For years I've been obsessed with Garnier BB Cream because it provides a good amount of coverage, doesn't break me out, and gives me an amazing glow that my dry skin craves. I've never been a big fan of foundations because I find them too heavy and they tend to accentuate dry patches (which I always have) or they make my skin even drier and cause peeling or flaking. Lately I've been getting bored with my makeup routine and I decided to change things up. I've read mixed reviews about the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation but I heard it was amazing for dry skin so I decided to give it a shot! I have fair skin that's on the cool side, so I picked up the shade C3.

First things first, I'm already obsessed!! It's so lightweight and makes my skin look really bright. It somehow hides my dry patches and gives my skin a lot of added moisture. It hasn't caused any blemishes and I can usually tell right away if a product is going to break me out because my skin is super sensitive. An added bonus is that it is by far the most beautifully packaged drugstore foundation on the market right now. The bottle is glass and expensive feeling, and the pump is a handy feature that my beloved BB cream doesn't have. I'm so happy!!!!

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation Review

Since I haven't worn foundation in so long I've been experimenting with application methods. I've tried the sponge shown above ($4 from Rexall), the Real Techniques Foundation Brush, and the Dior Professional Finish Fluid Foundation Brush. The Dior is hands down my favourite way to apply it because it doesn't absorb any product, so I can use less of it and have more coverage.

My only complaint about this product is that most of the shades available in Canada are really yellow based. C3 is the lightest cool toned colour I could find and it's slightly too dark for me, so I wish there was a C2 or even a C1 option for when I'm at my palest.

All in all, if you have dry skin and you're looking for a medium coverage foundation you NEED this in your life. I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin because I feel like it would slip around and cause shine, but for me it's perfect.

What's your favourite foundation?

Real Techniques Makeup Brushes

Up until recently, my makeup brush collection was really tiny and basically consisted of a couple eyeshadow brushes, a kabuki brush, and a foundation brush (which I never even use for foundation). I was in need of a serious upgrade but I could never bite the bullet because good brushes are pricey and I'm just not one of those people that likes to spend money on brushes because they're kind of boring. Normally when I'm deciding on what to buy I do a ton of research, but this time I knew exactly what I wanted: REAL TECHNIQUES! I think these are a lot more popular in the US than in Canada because I couldn't find them anywhere except for Rexall and Amazon. I've heard that Walmart carries them but there isn't one close to my school and I'm way too lazy to go anywhere that requires taking more than one bus so I can't say for sure what they have!

Chances are you already own these brushes but for those of you who don't I'll give you the low down: they're cheap, soft, and apply makeup like a dream. When I say these brushes are cheap, I mean they're really cheap. I think I paid less than $20 for all of these! The cashier at Rexall was also really nice to me and for some reason she kept throwing in coupons I had never seen before so bless her soul. The biggest perk is that they don't shed, so you won't end up with nasty black hairs all over your face! I picked up the Core Collection which consists of a detailer brush, a contour brush, a buffing brush, and a foundation brush, and then I bought the blush brush (in the pink) separately. Anyway, I'm really pumped about these brushes and their cuteness makes me a little more excited about spending money on makeup tools rather than makeup.

Have you tried Real Techniques?

Drugstore Acne Solutions

Drugstore Acne Solutions

Since I was probably 12 years old I've been prone to the odd blemish here and there. I can't say that I've ever had a serious problem with acne, but there was a point where I always had at least one pesky spot and it completely ruined my confidence for a long time. I'm not one of those people that can just be patient and leave my skin alone, so I've tried just about every drugstore product in hopes of finding a miracle acne treatment. These are the products I currently own so I thought I would let you guys know what has or hasn't worked for me!

Clean & Clear Advantage Plus Popped Pimple Drying Paste: I know you're not supposed to pop your pimples because of scarring and yada yada but I'll admit it--I always do it! Whenever it happens I come out of the bathroom sulking because I made my face look a trillion times worse than before and I swear up and down I'll never do it again but of course I do. This product is actually great because it completely dries up spots in a really short period of time. Imagine this as toothpaste that won't burn your skin. It doesn't go on clear and has a bit of a bluish tint so you'll look pretty stupid when you have this on but you can't win them all!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Hydrating Acne Treatment: I LOVE this stuff! I heard it was going to be discontinued so I currently have about four bottles in my bathroom cabinet. It's more of a moisturizer than a spot treatment and has a gel consistency that smells a little like cucumbers. This just makes my skin look a lot clearer and more radiant and doesn't dry it out too bad! It's also a great little multitasker because it helps prevent ingrown hairs, so I apply it to my bikini line whenever I wax/shave/epilate/whatever! Love love love it.

Drugstore Acne Solutions

Clearasil Ultra Rapid Vanishing Treatment Cream: This stuff is your very typical clear spot treatment. When I first tried it I thought it was the holy grail of all spot treatments but it seems like my skin has gotten used to it because it doesn't work nearly as well as it used to. Still, this is definitely my go-to when I have red spots that haven't quite surfaced, and it usually nips them right in the bud.

Clean & Clear Persa Gel: This stuff is really similar to the Clearasil version but doesn't work nearly as well. If I apply this on top of a popped pimple 100% of the time I'll wake up and the pimple will be back or worse than before. I know you're not supposed to be popping them in the first place but this is the only product I've tried that does this, so overall if you're looking for a good spot treatment I wouldn't turn to this one.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+: This is my newest product of the bunch! I've been using it for about three or maybe four weeks now so I feel like it's a little too soon to give my full opinion, but so far it's my favourite of the bunch. I use it as an all over moisturizer and I apply it to spots I feel like might be surfacing. I think I've had one teeny tiny blemish since using this and my skin has just looked so much more even and brighter. I have really dry skin so sometimes this causes flakes around my nose, but every single moisturizer that hasn't broken me out has done this so I don't mind. My only complaint is that it hasn't helped at all with clogged pores or blackheads which is what I bought it for, but I'm hoping it will eventually.

What are your favourite acne treatments?

Sephora Beauty Insider Sale Wishlist

Sephora Beauty Insider Sale Wishlist

The Sephora Beauty Insider sale is coming up and I have a laundry list full of products I'm dying to buy. These sales are so sneaky because they make it seem like the savings are huge when in reality I won't even be saving enough to cover the tax. Ah well. Since I'm currently saving for a flight to Edmonton there's no way in the world I can purchase all of these items in one go, and I'm expecting a lot of them to be sold out anyway, but in a perfect world I would walk into Sephora and come out with all of these beauties. A girl can dream! Anyway, let's get into it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit: This has been everywhere in the blogger world recently and after a lot of back and forth I've decided I need it. At first I thought it was a bit of a waste of money because I didn't think I would use half the colours in the palette, but after watching a ton of of YouTube videos I think I've found a potential use for almost all of them. Fingers crossed this one isn't sold out!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve and Always Red: Every single time I go into Sephora these two shades are sold out. It's so annoying! I've heard that this is the best liquid lipstick on the market right now and that Marvelous Mauve is a dupe for Stila Patina so I neeeeeed this. If I can walk out of the sale with even just one of these shades and nothing else I'll be a happy girl. P.s. if I see any of you hoarding these at the store I will fight you!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita: This is another liquid lipstick that is always sold out. To be honest I'm not even sure I need to own this because my collection of mauvey brown lipsticks is getting a little too big, and as of right now I have my heart set on Marvelous Mauve, but I really want to see why this product is a cult favourite. If you own this tell me your thoughts and if it's worth picking up!

Nars Blush in Deep Throat: I already own this blush in Orgasm and I love it, but I've been using it for years and I think I need to switch it up and see what else is out there. Since I'm not quite ready to stray from my beloved Nars I figure changing the colour I use is a good first step! This shade looks similar to Orgasm but seems a little less red.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: I already own the Naked 1 and 2 Palettes so this purchase is completely unnecessary but.... so pretty.....

Nars Audacious Lipstick in Anna: Surprise, surprise, another mauve lipstick! This colour looks a little similar to Marvelous Mauve so I probably wouldn't buy both of these. Well, at least not at the same time. Okay maybe I would. Eeeeeeep I have a problem!! I haven't tried the formula of this lipstick yet but I've heard nothing but great things about it so it's probably time I jumped on the bandwagon. Sorry wallet.

And there it is! I feel like making this wishlist was a really horrible idea. I thought it would control my spending but it's made me want these products even more. Someone tell me something really horrible about them so that I want them less!

Are you stopping by the Sephora sale? What's on your wishlist?

Contouring for Beginners

It's almost the end of my Easter weekend which I'm super bummed about because that means my boyfriend goes back to Edmonton and it's time to buckle down and start studying for finals. Even though I'm in a poopy mood I'm really excited about today's post because these are all products I've discovered recently that are my little miracle workers! Obviously none of these are designed to work together in terms of contouring, but they're really effective and make contouring quick and easy, especially for beginners.

I've seen people highlight before they contour, but I usually use the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour as my first step after I've prepped my face with BB cream and a little bit of bronzer. This product is so easy to use because it glides right on and is surprisingly easy to blend. I've had a harder time blending in some bronzers than this chubby stick which I think says a lot. I've read a lot of reviews saying it's hard to apply the stick to the sides of the nose because it has a flat end as opposed to a sharp one, but I haven't had this problem. Maybe I have a big nose heheh.

My next step is applying the L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer as an all over highlighter. The key areas I apply this are my forehead, chin, under my eyes in an upside down triangle shape, and down the bridge of my nose. Even though this is a concealer and not a highlighter I find it really works best to brighten areas of the face as opposed to covering them up, making it perfect for contouring.

My last step is applying Benefit's Watts Up to emphasize the top of my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. This is the most beautiful champagne colour highlighter, but I find it too shimmery to apply all over my face so I use it sparingly in areas I want a little extra glow.

From top to bottom: L'Oreal Magic Lumi, Benefit Watts Up, Clinique Chubby Contour

My only issue with Clinique's Chubby Contour is that it's dark and really warm toned. Right now there's only one colour offered, so it's definitely not a product that will work for everyone. I would personally prefer something a little lighter and cooler in colour but if blended properly it looks beautiful, and I can imagine it will look even better in the summer when I have a bit of a tan.

What are your favourite contouring products?

Spotlight On: Mac Viva Glam I

Mac Viva Glam I Review

Happy Easter weekend everybody! I hope you're all having an awesome time with family and friends. It's almost 11:30 and I'm still sitting on the couch in my pjs so life is great. Anyway!! On to today's post.

The first lipstick I ever wore was a bright red shade from the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss collection. Since then a lot has changed and my lipstick collection has expanded enormously, but I still love the look of a red lip. I feel like it makes me look instantly classier and more put together.  One thing I absolutely hate about red lips is the tendency for the colour to feather/smear or get on my teeth. That's where Mac Viva Glam I comes in!

Mac Viva Glam I Review

Viva Glam I is a really hard shade to explain because it's a dark blue toned red, but it also wears a little bit brown which I think works perfectly with my brown hair and fair skin. Like most Mac lipsticks, it's incredibly long lasting and I never have to worry about putting it on and having it end up on my cheek or chin a couple of hours later (trust me this has happened to me tooooooo many times and it's so embarrassing to have someone be like "mel you have red crap all over your face"). Since it's a matte finish it's a little bit drying, so definitely moisturize and/or exfoliate before application! Personally this is something I can deal with even though my lips are already insanely dry because there's nothing quite as pretty as a matte red lip, plus it makes teeth look super white.

Mac Viva Glam I Review

Since this lipstick is part of Mac's Viva Glam collection, 100% of the proceeds go to the Mac Aids Fund, so you don't have to feel guilty about forking over $20 for another lipstick that you don't need but convince yourself you do. Anyway, Mac Viva Glam I is PERFECT in every way and I can't praise it enough.

Mel's March Favourites

Mel's March Favourites

Ahhhhhhh I can't believe it's April! This is going to be a huge month for me. I'm moving to Edmonton for four months to live with my boyfriend who stinks and moved away for an eight month internship, I'm finishing my last year ever as an undergraduate student, I'm writing finals, and I have to say goodbye to my best friends in the world who I've been living with for the past four years. I'm freaking out just thinking about it so I need to stop and instead reflect on March!! I discovered a bunch of products this month that I've been absolutely obsessed with, and these are the ones I've been reaching for the most.

Vaseline Spray & Go in Aloe Fresh: This has been my go-to moisturizer since the day I bought it and it's absolutely perfect for days when I'm feeling too lazy to do a full moisturizing routine (aka most days). It smells great, absorbs almost instantly, and the bottle is really cute! What more could you want? I did a full review on Vaseline Spray & Go here.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+: This is a product I had insanely high hopes for, and so far it hasn't disappointed. I've been using it in place of my regular moisturizer two times a day, and it's made a huge differences in terms of evening out my skin tone and preventing breakouts (I haven't had one since I started using this a few weeks ago... knock on wood!). It still hasn't significantly cleared my clogged pores on my nose, but I read that it can take up to five weeks before I notice any massive change in my skin so I'm going to stick with it and see what happens.

Benefit Watt's Up: This technically isn't a new product of mine, but it's still one of my favourites. It's a beautiful champagne colour highlighter with a little bit of shimmer that gives my skin an amazing glow. It's the easiest thing in the world to apply and I just love it.

Mel's March Favourites

L'Oreal Nutri-Shimmer Shine Detangling Care: This is among my top two favourite drugstore hair products. I spray this about five times on either side of my head after getting out of the shower, and it leaves me with absolutely zero tangles. Those of you with long hair know how much of a pain it is to get a brush through wet hair, but this stuff completely takes away that hassle. It's saved my hair from a lot of damage, it smells good, and it's cheap!

Mac Lipstick in Brave: I saved the best for last!!! This lipstick has become my favourite of all time. The colour is a beautiful pink that's perfect for everyday wear, and the satin finish goes on really smoothly. For a more natural look I wear this on its own or on top of Mac Dervish liner, but if I want to look super polished I'll wear it on top of Mac Soar liner. I recently found a $4.50 dupe for this lipstick that I'm really excited about so stay tuned! For swatches of Brave and Dervish look here, and for a swatch of Soar look here.
